Hi friends,

as you may have recently noticed in the media, I left my former club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim two days ago to join VfB Stuttgart with immediate effect.

After four and a half years, 135 official matches and 54 goals it was time for me to take on a new challenge. The club always supported me in every condition of life, and I'm unbelievably proud to been a part of this positive development.

I look back on many years in Hoffenheim full of positive memories, and I would like to thank at this point my coaches Ralf Rangnick and Holger Stanislawski, all staff members and Dietmar Hopp, my teammates and especially you guys for those unforgettable moments. I really appreciate that no one put any obstructions in my way and I could fulfill my wish to move on to Stuttgart.

At VfB Stuttgart I was meanwhile well received and already worked through the first few training sessions. I'm really looking forward to the atmosphere at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena in Stuttgart, where we are going to play against VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday.

Hi friends,

the new year 2012 is already on for a few days, but nontheless I really hope you guys had a relaxing christmas and started successfully into the new year. I spent the holidays at home and recharged my batteries.

Just a few days before Christmas Eve TSG and me won the important last 16 encounter of the German Cup against league rival FC Augsburg 2:1, in which I scored the final goal. In the quarter finals we are going to face second division team Greuther Fürth on Wednesday, 08.02.2011 at 7:00 pm at WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

But first of all our main focus lies upon the preparation for the second half of the season, which we started with on 2nd January. Not as many other clubs do, we will not fly into a training camp, but instead concentrate on very specific aspects at our centre in Zuzenhausen. In this context we had a friendly match today against FSV Frankfurt, in which I played 60 minutes and scored one goal (final result: 2:2).

For our next test match we will travel to Hamburg, to play against FC St. Pauli on Sunday.

Hi friends,

the last few weeks have been highly emotional for me.

After I successfully came back to the pitch during the match against VfB Stuttgart, I was incredibly looking forward to our home match against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Especially as the coach nominated me for the starting eleven. Fabian did a great job and perfectly assisted wherefore I was able to score the 1:0, which moreover turned out to be the final result. An indescribable feeling for me!

In the following matches against Schalke and Kaiserslautern I even scored again in each match, although we unfortunately had to admit defeat after Schalke's brace and only drew again Kaiserslautern. In Hamburg we basically showed a strong performance, but at the decisive situations we haven't been forcing enough. Nonetheless I'm sure, that this will be different on Saturday at WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena against SC Freiburg!

Another very emotional moments for me have been the Play-Off matches with the national team against Portugal. We tried everything to fulfill our big dream! All the more motivated we'll play the Play-Offs for the FIFA World Cup!

Hi friends,

the long time and the hard rehabilitation has finally come to an end - on Saturday I finally played again in the Bundesliga after a five month long break.

When the coach called me and I was sent on in the 62nd minute against VfB Stuttgart, I was indescribably motivated. Especially as we took control over the match although we were one goal behind and I badly wanted to help the team. Unfortunately, we couldn't beat Stuttgart on the seventh attempt and had to drive back to Sinheim with a 0:2 loss on our backs. I really hope and I'm optimistic that we'll improve a lot until the home match against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Although Gladbach is currently having a huge wave of success, we can always count 100% on our fans and we'll show a great fight.

A huge and an emotional help for me were the internationals last week. After we won clearly against Luxembourg we reached a one all draw in France through which we qualified for the Play-Offs. Our opponent in the both duels on 11th and 15th November...Portugal!

As you probably remember, we already played the play-offs for the 2010 FIFA World Cup against them and lost both matches 0:1.

Now we have the once in a lifetime opportunity to take revenge and fulfill the big dream!

Hi friends,

roughly two weeks ago I eventually joined again the official team training after completely curing my upper leg injury. Since then I have been enjoying every single session and feel better from day to day. On the past weekend I had the chance to absorb the Bundesliga-atmosphere again at close quarters, because I claimed a space in the squad after my ten weeks long injury lay-off, although I wasn't called into action

We reached deservedly a goalless draw against the record champion and table topper FC Bayern München, and although there haven't been any goals, I think every fan was enthusiastic and satisfied with the match.

For the next match we are travelling again to the South of Germany when we have to play VfB Stuttgart at Mercedes-Benz-Arena. Since we promoted 2008 we couldn't celebrate a single three-pointer against them, so this should be motivation enough for all of us, to fight for the three points on October the 15th.

Until then, I gonna keep working on myself to reach a good performance level and come back to the pitch as soon as possible.

Right now I'm together with the national team in Bosnia-Herzegovina to prepare for the qualification match against Luxembourg. I guess everyone is expecting a clear win of us, but next Tuesday we have to play in France and this is going to be a way harder task.

I'm slowly starting with the training again and increase the intensity step-by-step in consultation with the coaches and the medicals. Nonetheless, it's difficult to forecast when I will play again with my teammates in the Bundesliga, but I'll try my best to realize this goal as soon as possible and thank you for your amazing support.

For me as a player, it's just the same sad as for you fans, to watch the guys losing a match against Werder Bremen without having the chance to help them on the pitch. We started really well into the match and took the lead but for no reason we lost control and gave away the three points. Nevertheless, we have a really young team with a great future ahead. We just have to follow our way and I'm proud to go this promising way together with my teammates in the future.

Therefore, I need to get fit soon, and I'm totally focused on that.

I knew it by intuition that our odds are good for the match against reigning champion Borussia Dortmund and I was right. We won the match through a terrific freekick from Sejad and a great team performance 1:0 and rackep up the first victory of this season.

I received lots of motivating messages from you and I can tell you know that I'm in cheerful spirits to be back on the pitch very soon. Most likely I will return into the regular team training next week and hopefully onto the big Bundesliga-stage shortly.

Our second away match of this season is going to take place tomorrow against FC Augsburg. The promoted team from Southern Germany tied in both matches so far against SC Freiburg and 1.FC Kaiserslautern. Therefore, they will be jonesing for the first three-pointer in front of their home croud. We are aware of that but nonetheless we will focus on our strengths and bring home the points with your support.

Hi guys,

my rehab is processing well so far and I took the chance on Wednesday to watch the international between Germany and Brazil in Stuttgart.

Our start with TSG into the Bundesliga didn't go that well and it was doubtless very unpleasant for me seeing the team losing in Hannoer without having the chance to help them actively on the pitch. The match was attractive for the spectators and was decided through set-pieces. Hannover took the lead after scoring a long discussed freekick, but we had the right answer just a few minutes later when Sejad took the responsibility and equalized a penalty. And once again just 12 minutes afterwards the referee gave another penalty on the other side which Hannover converted into the final result of 2:1.

We have to draw lessons from that and improve in tomorrow's home match against reigning champion Borussia Dortmund at WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena. In the last season we were the only team that reached four points against BVB and therefore we can go into the match absolutely confident.

I'm sure that my teammates will do a great job and hopefully we'll claim the points.

Dear friends,

just shortly after I finished writing my article last week a momentous event occured during the training session.

I felt a pain in my left thigh and had to cancel the training immediately. The checkup that was run by a specialist in Munich brang out a torn bundle of muscles. This will result in a eight week long compulsory break.

I'm unbelievably disappointed of course, especially due to the fact that the preparation went really well for me and I was hardly looking forward to the start of the season. Now my main goal is to completely cure the injury and come back onto the pitch as soon as possible. At least the team won the match against Germania Windeck and reached therefore the second round of the German Cup.

I will give my best to support the team mentally so that the season kick-off against Hannover 96 will be succesful. The team from Hannover played a fantastic season last year and have to underline their ambitions at home, while we know from the 4:0 victory last season how to play against them.

I'm nonetheless really excited and hope to be back as soon as possible.

Hi friends,

the friendly match against Waldhof Mannheim as well as the duel against the spanish first division team Racing Santander ended with a highly deserved win for us. At the Carl-Benz-Stadium in Mannheim I played as the only striker during our 4:1 victory, in which Roberto, Prince Tagoe, Ryan and one own goal saved us the win. Absolutely terrific was for me personally the fan- and familyday on Sunday. I was really looking forward to this event and it was just awesome to see the thrill of anticipation towards the upcoming season in everyone's eyes.

Before we headed towards the signing session we pooled our strengths and showed a strong performance against Racing Santander. With this 3:2 success on our backs we are perfectly prepared for our first official exercise in the first round of the German Cup. On Sunday at 4:00 pm we are facing the fourth division team Germania Windeck and it's up to us to prove our strength and not letting anyone doubt. Unfortunately, I'm suspended but I will try my best to support the team psychologically.

Hi guys,

in not less than just about two weeks the weeks of privation will be finally over and you can enjoy top-class football in Sinsheim.

On sunday we left around noon our training camp in Feldkirchen, Austria and flew back to Sinsheim. After we reached a one all draw in the final test match against Legia Warsaw, we just absolved a short session on saturday morning before in the afternoon the third and final part of the big teamchallenge took place, in which we eventually had to admit defeat against the winning team consisting of Sejad, Matthias, Sven and Roberto. We spend the evening together with our fans who traveled with us. Therefore, we made a barbecue for them to say "Thank you" for their support.

On the upcoming sunday the big fan- and familyday will take place at Rhein-Neckar-Arena and we will face spanish first division team Racing Santander in this context at 3:00 pm.

Hi fans,

I really hope you enjoyed the summer break but I'm sure you will agree that the time has come for the beloved round leather to finally roll again.

My summer break was fantastic and relaxing, I recharged my batteries at my family's home in the United States and came back to TSG's pre-season start fully filled with motivation. More precisely I started with the regular performance-checks and really felt like home when I finally saw my teammates again. In our first friendly against FV Ettlingenweier I scored five goals within 26 minutes! On last Wednesday we left Sinsheim for our twelve-day training camp in Feldkirchen (Austria). So far we had a lot of fun and of course also intensive sessions. They focus so far on fitness aspects as well as small competitions. On Saturday we played austrian first division team SV Ried and won by goals whereby I scored the second one five minutes before end. Not even 24 hours afterwards we faced another austrian team, although we didn't get beyond a goalless draw against Rapid Wien. Today the coaches prepared a small surprise for everyone an organized a teamchallenge which was really fun but also physically challenging.

On Friday we will have the last test match of the camp against polish team Legia Warsaw, before we will come back to Sinsheim on Sunday.

Hi friends,

I took the last few days to think about the last seson.

It started really well for us with the wins against Werder Bremen, FC St. Pauli and Schalke 04 and everybody was optimistically looking forward to the rest of a hopefully successful season. After a short barren run we came back with a home victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Afterwards is was a season with many ups and downs, because we especially missed out in the second half of the season on playing steady enough, wherefore we aren't satisfied at all with the 11th place in the standings. I played nearly 70% of all game minutes and scored eight goals and three assists. We all agreed that the next season has to be better!

I will use the summer break to visit my family in the United States to what I'm really looking forward. I will recharge my batteries there before the official preparation with TSG will start on June the 22nd.

with the upcoming match against VFL Wolfsburg we are going to bring this season full of ups and downs to an end.

I'm really excited that our last match will be at our Rhein-Neckar-Arena. This is a great opportunity for us to say a big thank you to all fans before we are leaving into the summer break. We already laid a very important psychological foundation when we won last week's match in Nuremberg 2:1. Unfortunately, I didn't get much playing time again, but I tried everything in the few minutes to underline that I want to be back in the starting eleven.

Against the "wolves" you can be looking forward to a see-saw match, because the former champions of 2009 are facing the relegation! Beside the positive closure of the season we also would love to take revanche for the two all draw in the first leg in which we squandered during the last 15 minutes our two goal lead.

I really hope that a lot of you guys will take the chance and come to Rhein-Neckar-Arena to cheer for us the last time in this season!

Hey friends,

unfortunately I wasn't nominated for the starting eleven again when we faced VfB Stuttgart on the last weekend, but I gave my best in this week's training sessions, because I would like to play against Nuremberg badly.

The derby against Stuttgart started well for us, having a good control of the opponent and the ball and taking the lead deservedly after 14 minutes through Peniel Mlapa. After about 60 minutes of game time a few mistakes made their way into our game and the Swabians took these chances icecold and scored twice. Although we lost this match, it was in my eyes a way better performance than we showed in the previous match in Leverkusen.

In the next and second last match of this season in Nuremberg we are facing a team that played a successful and steady season. The last two direct duels in the Bundesliga ended in a draw, but I really hope that we can claim the three points on Saturday and show our fans in the last match a great performance with a lot of confidence on our backs.

unfortunately we couldn't put a spoke in Bayer Leverkusen's wheel, although we took the lead. For me personally it was especially frustrating that I couldn't help my teammtes, because I had to sit on the bench and only came onto the pitch for the last 12 minutes. At the end we drove home with a 1:2 loss and have to look ahead to the upcoming challenges.

On Saturday we have a big chance in the home match against Stuttgart to achieve the first victory against VfB since we promoted 2008. In five matches we drew four times and Stuttgart claimed the points once. My goal is to show a great match to the Fans and thank them thereby for their amazing support throughout the season!

Hey buddies,

it was about time and we successfully extended our run against Frankfurt. The 1:0 victory wasn't the most attractive match of all times, but it was a dedicated performance from us in a see-saw match. After the first half was packed with chances for both teams except that neither Frankfurt nor us scored a goal, Roberto Firmini was finally the man saving us three points by his first Bundesliga-goal in the 78th minute.

The last four games of this season against Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and 2009' champions VFL Wolfsburg promise a lot of action and tough matches against ambitious opponents. We gonna start off with the away match at BayArena against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. After beeing smashed 1:5 by record champions Bayern Munich this weekend they will try to make it up to their home crowd. With the two all draw in the first half of the season we claimed points for the first time against Leverkusen after losing all four direct duels so far. In this match I started our sensational comeback which was finished by the last-minute goal from Gylfie.

I'm already really excited and looking forward!

although some days already passed by since we played the match in Freiburg, it's still hard for me to work up this loss. In the first half we managed it to turn around the match through a converted penalty by me and Ryans first goal in the Bundesliga. Therefore, we were one goal in front at half time and furthermore one man more due to a red card for a Freiburg defender. In the end it could be explained with our passivity that we lost grip and had to drive home with a 3:2 loss on our backs.

During this week we analyzed the match and tomorrow in our home match against Eintracht Frankfurt we especially have to make it up to our fans. Frankfurt is the weakest team of the second half of the season, but the managerial changes gave them new impetus so they will try everythinh to claim points against us. From a statistical point of view we are the hot favourite, because we won three out of the five Bundesliga-matches and drew the other two times. The match in the first half of the season we won clearly by four goals and I scored twice back then.

on the last Saturday I played my 100. match in the German Bundesliga. In 76 of these I was wearing the TSG-jersey and scored 37 goals. I really hope for the future to play plenty more matches for Hoffenheim while having you behind me!

I truly wished to celebrate my jubilee with a three-pointer against Hamburg, but at the end I had to be satisfied with a goalless draw, although we dominated the first half and had to go into halftime with at least one goal in front.

In the next match we have the big chance against SC Freiburg to claim important points against a direct competitor. The team from Breisgau are just one point ahead, so we could switch positions in the table with a win. I still have in mind that Freiburg is a very difficult team to play against, and I still know exactly that we received the match-winning goal in the 91st minute, so we have a lot to make up for.

Dear friends,

the last weekend went by really well for me. We took away three highly important points from the 2:1 success against Romania and are back in contention for the qualification for the UEFA EURO 2012. The match was really intense! At first we were one goal behind after Romania took the lead in the 28th minute, but then the 63th minute finally arrived. Zvjezdan crossed a freekick perfectly into the box and I extended the ball into the net. After the equalizer we tried everything to claim the three points and our efforts were rewarded when Edin scored the 2:1 after 83 minutes.

Strengthened from this success I will now focus on the preparation for TSG's next clash against Hamburger SV. We lost the first leg bitterly unhappy with 2:1, but on the other hand we did win last season's home match 5:1 and I have good memories on that because I scored twice back then. The match will be on Saturday at 6:30 pm at Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

unfortunately we couldn't build on our amazing performance from the match against Dortmund and logically we lost therefore in Hannover with 0:2. In the last few weeks our performances are just fluctuating too much and we urgently need to get consistency into our matches.

We know for sure that Hannover is especially dangerous when they are playing counterattacks and we have to make the running. And this was exactly what happended, but we didn't manage it to be effective enough and were hit on the break when Hannover scored the 1:0 after 38 minutes. In the second half basically nothing changed. We still tried everything to equalize and Hannover successfully set up the next counter-attack in the 53rd minute.

Before I'm going to play the next match in the Bundesliga with TSG against Hamburger SV, I will have to win an important international against Romania. On Saturday at 19.15 Uhr in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina only a victory counts for us to keep up the chance for a successful qualification for the FIFA European Championship.

against the table-toppers from Dortmund I was finally in the starting eleven again and I could hardly wait for the kick-off. During the last week we spoke a lot and worked with many video analysis to be perfectly prepared for the important match.

Overall it was a see-saw and thrilling match in which we always tried to keep it tight and not to give Dortmund any space for unfolding their attacking game. The first half went by with a few chances for both teams but goalless. From my point of view we even made it to improve in the second half and we were the better team at times. In the 63rd minute the time had finally come! I got the ball just in front of the box and passed it to Andi Beck on the right flank. He perfectly crossed it into the box and I scored the winning goal! I'm so incredibly happy that I had the chance to help the team in this difficult siuation. Afterwards there were a few chances on both sides, but the final result remained 1:0.

For the next match we have to drive to Hannover and I really hope that we can build on our last match against Dortmund. And the odds may be better than it looks at first side. From the last five matches against Hannover we won four off them and drew once. The team from Lower-Saxony lost their last match in Cologne by four goals, so they will try everything to make up for this disappointment in front of their home crowd.

before we have to play Borussia Dortmund in our home match I would have hoped for a better starting situation. Against Borussia Mönchengladbach we had the big chance to gain the necessary self-esteem, but what goes around, comes around.

The coach decided to start differently and so I had to take place on the bench. It wasn't a great feeling at all to see the teammates struggling and losing while I couldn't help them actively. At the end we lost justly 0:2. But in football it's always possible to spring a surprise and to show high class performances when no one expects you to do so. On Saturday we are facing the undisputed league leader Borussia Dortmund in our Rhein-Neckar-Arena. And we have already proven in the first leg that we are able to stand the pace. Everything seemed as we were about to win the match by one goal when Dortmund equalized in the third minute of injury time. In return we will try everything to take revenge on them on Saturday, and I'm sure, that we can achieve this with the help of our fans.

we intended to continue our good performance from the match against Köln to beat Mainz in last weekend's home match. Unfortunately, we couldn't achieve this goal at all regarding the first half and therefore we were one down at halftime. After the coach harangued we also motivated ourselves again and swore to show our true face. Deservedly, we equalized through Davids goal in the 83rd minute. However, we conceded the 1:2 inexplicably just two minutes later. I'm really sorry for our fans that we couldn't show them the performance they would have deserved for their support!

I will try my best to get the necessary self confidence back in the next match against Borussia Mönchengladbach and to put table-toppers Borussia Dortmund a spoke in their wheels. We already played Mönchengladbach twice during this season. In October we won the away match 3:2 and just before Christmas we reached the quarter-finals due to our 2:0 success.

The statistics as well as the current standings in the table are clear indicators for us but I know exactly from my experience that those matches are most of the time hard-fought and that is why we have to give everything to claim the points.

no doubt - after we lost by four goals against Bayern Munch we tried everything to claim the points at home against 1.FC Köln. Although we were held to a one all draw we reached a lot in this match. For example the chances we had were in some cases outstanding well-created and normally we could have won the match with a one or two goals difference. Therefore, I see indeed a positive development in our way of play and sooner or later this fact will be reflected in our points. In case we are a little bit more lucky with our shots we will hopefully claim the points against Mainz 05 in our next league match.

Mainz won all Bundesliga-matches so far against us, the last one in the first half of the season 4:2. But back then they were nearly invincible, but now the starting situations changed. Mainz couldn't win one of their last three matches and he have the big chance now, to finally thank our fans with a victory in the second home match in a row.

my international with the bosnia-herzegovinan national team unfortunately went similarly bad (0:2 against Mexico) as TSG's away match in Munich. As I was standing in the dressing room the memories of the legendary match in December 2008 flashed through my mind. I visualized the situation in which I scored the 1:0 again and again so that I was perfectly motivated for the big match. Sadly, we fell behind just after two minutes and after 15 minutes it has already been a two goal lead. This made it very difficult for us to come back into the match straight away, so I tried to steal the ball already in the midfield and push on our attacking game. I'm afraid we didn't show the performance we would have needed to bring Bayern München in difficulties, so we went to the dogs with 0:4.

We had to forget the match as quick as possible to focus 100% on the upcoming exercise on Saturday. Our guest in Rhein-Neckar-Arena will be 1.FC Köln, who won three out of the last four away matches against us. In the last two weeks they claimed important points against Bayern München and Mainz 05. Nonetheless, they just got five points out off their away matches which makes them the worst away team of the league.

I'm sure, that we have the chance to get the three points with your support!

today, I'm writing you from Atlanta, USA. At 2:00am MET I'll have an international against FIFA World-Cup participant Mexico. I really do hope for a good match so that I can go home satisfied.

I'm especially motivated of course after we won the second Bundesliga match in a row. We perfectly continued against Kaiserslautern where we left off against Schalke and showed them right away that we are the home team and we'll do everything to win the match. Fully deserved we took the two goal lead after Gylfie scored in the 28th and Sebastian in the 40th minute. Everything seemed like this would be an easy task to claim the points and a few people may have thought this way...But in the Bundesliga you can never ever write somebody off till the final whistle blows and have to stay concentrated. Nevertheless, I rarely experienced an emotional roller coaster like I did in these four minutes. Kaiserslautern got one back and scored the equalizer within two minutes and the course of the game was suddenly turned upside down. But I fastly converted the frustration productively and scored the decisive 3:2 and my sixth goal in this season.

On Saturday we have an away match at Allianz-Arena against the big FC Bayern München. For this match it needs no motivation tricks, I just have to remember the legendary match in December 2008. I'm also really looking forward to meet Luiz Gustavo again!

last week I was really worried because I couldn't help the team avoiding the tight defeat in the German Cup. In return I was on hand for the important victory against Schalke on Saturday. Finally the game took the course I expected and hoped for. Although the matches before against Bremen and St. Pauli weren't badly performaned from us the penetration power was just missing. In the Veltins-Arena we focued on keeping it tight and fast counterattacks. In fact we managed it to take early the control over the match. That our early 1:0 lead through Isaac would be the final result was basically just caused by our poor conversion of chances. Nonetheless, I'm indescribably happy about this lift and therefore I'm optimistically looking forward to our next match against Kaiserslautern. The "Red Devils" got a 2 all draw off us in the first leg but they are waiting for a win since a few matches. If we can transport this effort to the match on Saturday, we will show you guys in our Rhein-Neckar-Arena a terrific match!

the first home match of 2011 unfortunately went off worse than I expected. First of all, I was really happy to play again in front of the fans of 1899 in our Rhein-Neckar-Arena and so I gave my best right from the kick-off. Our opponent St. Pauli was concentrated on their defensive order at first and kept it tight. After a freekick in the 29th minute Marvin finally scored the deserved goal. The second half simply wasn't good from us, we were too unconcentrated and St. Pauli used those chances for them icecold and turned the match around. Thankfully we could equalise and at least take one point this time by a last-minute-goal from David. In the last few days we fussy analyzed the match to be prepared as good as possible for today's cup tie.

For the first time in the history of 1899 Hoffenheim we have the chance to reach the semifinal of the German DFB-Cup. Although the Bundesliga is our daily business, we Cup is a great incentive. Unfortunately, I can't contribute to the match due to my ban, but I'll keep all fingers cross for my teammates against second division team Energie Cottbus. Kick-off will be this evening at 07:00 pm. Cottbus will not to be underestimated, because they already came out on top against teams like SC Freiburg or VFL Wolfsburg.

On Saturday I will be back on the field in our away match at Veltins-Arena against Schalke 04. Schalke had some ups and downs in the first half of the season, but they took the three points last week from their away match in Hannover. Furthermore, we lost the away match last season by two goals, but I'm pretty sure, that we have good chances this time as long as we concentrate and give our best over 90 minutes. And who knows - if we could win today in Cottbus, this might be the deciding push for Saturday!

Hallo Freunde,

ich bin natürlich immernoch etwas enttäuscht wegen unserer unglücklichen Last-Minute-Niederlage in Bremen, obwohl wir aus meiner Sicht ein gutes Spiel abgeliefert haben. Aber die Tatsache, dass wir erneut in der Nachspielzeit den entscheidenen Gegentreffer kassierten ist extrem bitter. Mein Blick geht aber nach vorne und dort sehe ich sehr erfreut einem Highlight entgegen - dem ersten Bundesligaheimspiel des Jahres 2011. Gegen den FC St. Pauli hoffe ich auf Eure lautstarke Unterstützung, damit wir hoffentlich einen Dreier einfahren. Beim Hinspiel überzeugten wir auswärts am Millerntor mit einem 1:0 Erfolg, und ich bin mir sicher, dass wir mit der nötigen Konzentration gute Chancen haben auch das Rückspiel für uns zu entscheiden. Ich habe immernoch die internationalen Plätze im Blick und dafür ist es sehr wichtig, dass wir am Sonntag den Startschuss zu einer Serie legen. Zudem steht nächste Woche Mittwoch das Viertelfinale des DFB-Pokals an. Dort treffen wir auswärts auf Energie Cottbus und möchten natürlich den Halbfinaleinzug perfekt machen.

Hi guys,

after having a training camp with TSG in La Manga, I came back home on Monday. In contrast to our last camp in La Manga in 2009, when I had a cruciate ligament rupture, the sessions and test matches went well this time and I feel perfectly prepared for the first fixture since the winter break. Among the fitness workout we specifically trained many match situations and tested them promptly in the second test match against dutch club Twente Enschede. The final result was a one all draw after I scored the equalizer in the 72nd minute.

Now, we are preparing for the first Bundesliga match of 2011 and our opponent will be no less a figure than Werder Bremen. Bremen has to make the first half of the season up to their fans so they will be hard to play aginst despite their place in the standings. Our main focus is to keep pace with the international spots in the table, and of course from a psychological point of view, to have a good start into the second half o the season.

I can hardly wait for it, and I'm pretty sure you can neither, right?

Hey guys,

before I tell you more details, I'd like to wish you a Happy New Year and may all your dreams come true. I really enjoyed every single day I spent with my family and recharged my batteries.

As you probably read on the internet or in the newspapers some personell changes took place at 1899. I had to let a good friend go, when Luiz Gustavo decided to sign with Bayern Munich. But I look forward to our renunion on February the 12th, when we play against each other in Munich's Allianz-Arena.

To prepare ourselves as good as possible for the second half of the season we travelled to La Manga, Spain. There we are going to absolve a one-week-long training camp in perfect conditions. During this period we will play two test matches. The first one against Real Murcia ended goalless today and the second one is on Sunday at 04:00 p.m against the dutch club Twente Enschede.

Hi friends,

at this point I would like to thank you very much for your amazing support throughout this year!

I scored overall eleven goals in the Bundesliga and my personal aim is to increase this number in the next year. But I can only achieve this goal if you keep supporting me!

For now, I will enjoy my winter-break and visit my family in St. Louis, USA. Unhappily I don't see them very often, therefore I'm really excited and look forward. On January the 2nd the mid-season preparation of TSG is about to start.

I wish you all a merry Christmas with your families and a happy new year, in which all your dreams and hopes will come true.

Hey guys,

we finished the first half of the season and this year with our two all draw against VFL Wolfsburg on the 8th position in the table. The season began really well for us winning the first three matches in a row, but afterwards we started to be unconcentrated in the last few minutes of the matches which is why we lost important points. The match in Wolfsburg also slipped away in the last 15 minutes, although everything looked fine at first. Luiz Gustavo scored the leading goal after 34 minutes and just six minutes later I assisted to Gylfie Sigurdsson who marked the important two goals lead right before half-time. Wolfsburg got one back in the 75th minute and scored the equalizer in injury time. We have to work on that in the winter break for sure.

Nevertheless, we succeeded yesterday against Borussia Mönchengladbach and reached the quarter-finals of the German DFB-Cup. Unfortunately, I couldn't take part due to my ban but my teammates stepped into the breach. And now I'm really exited which team we are going to face in the quarter-final!

For now, I will enjoy my winter-break. Our mid-season preparation will start off on January the 2nd with an indoor tournament in Mannheim. The day after we'll fly to La Manga, Spain to work through our training camp. Within the training camp we will definitively play at least two test matches before we have to start the second half of the season in Bremen on January the 15th.

I will tell you in another article a little bit about my personal plans for the winter-break and the Holidays.

Dear fans,

this article is not related to football. I would like to inform you about a campaign I supported in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

It's about Amila Dzinovic, a 23-year old medicine student from Tuzla, Bosnia-Herzegovina. She is a very socially engaged young woman who unfortunately has a very special form of blood cancer. This disease can only be taken by a surgery that will cost 250.000 Euro. The Bosnian insurance system is not covering this medical treatment. Amila speaks four languages and her dream is to become a member of WHO (World Health Organization).

Her fate touched me deeply so I decided to contact "Dijete BiH" Organization and set up an opportunity to support the fundraising. That's why I flew to Sarajevo on Monday and signed about 1.000 wristbands which all will be sold. The total revenue will fulsome be of benefit to Amila.

I really hope, that enough money will be fundraised to help this remarkable young woman. If you would like to inform yourself more detailed or donate money, take a look at her website.

honestly, I expected the last home match in 2010 to end differently. At first, everything seemed to work out perfectly. We had total control of the match and deservedly took the lead after 55 minutes through Marvin's header. Two minutes later I was replaced and had to watch how we didn't use our chances and conceded the equalizer in the 87th minute. If you just take a look at the course of the game and chance rate we definitively had to win the match, but that is football!

On the upcoming Saturday we are playing our last league match of this year. Our opponent in the away match is VFL Wolfsburg, former champions of 2009. Of course we would like to end this year with a sense of achievement. Afterwards, I am able to sum up this first half of the season. Wolfsburg drew the last five matches and in the last season they won their home match against us by four goals, but I'm convinced that it will take a turn for the better this time!

Hi guys,

overall, our draw in Stuttgart is fine by me considering the early red card against Isaac and the consequent one man down situation. At the beginning everything seemed to work out for us when Sejad brought us the lead with his goal in the eleventh minute. Stuttgart equalized in the 34th minute and just seven minutes later the contravertible dismissal happened. During the hald time break the coach told me that we have to do tactical switches in order to react on the red card. Therefore, I stayed in the dressing room.

In this week's training session we trained at full blast to play at the limit in our last home match of 2010 on Saturday against Nuernberg. The "club" will try to make amend for their last four defeats, but we won't insist although it will be a tough challenge. In the last season we were able to claim the three points in the home match with our 3:0 victory. Still fresh in my mind is my goal back then which was the 2:0.

I really hope to see many of you on Saturday to end this year in the Rhine-Neckar Arena appropriately.

Hi guys,

it already happened quite a few times this season, that we concede a goal in the last minutes of a match. This time, it was the crucial factor for our last-minute success.

Our record so far against Leverkusen with four defeats out off four matches let us starting the match as underdogs. But I had a good feeling, that it might be different this time. First of all, it looked bad for us, we were already down by two goals after ten minutes. It took some time to swallow the deficit, but we came back. In the 38th minute Sejad crossed a free kick into the area from the right wing and I scored with a header. Just 1:2! After my double pack against Frankfurt it was already my third goal in two matches. During the half-time break we encouraged each other again, beacuse we knew that the die was not yet cast. And finally we made it and changed the course of the game in the last minutes. It was the third minute of injury time when Gylfie converted a penalty and the final score was 2:2. From my point of view it was an very important goal, especially for the moral of the team.

On Saturday we will face VfB Stuttgart in an away match. In the last season we lost the match in Stuttgarts Mercedes-Benz Arena with 3:1. The most important factor on Saturday will be the team spirit and at the moment our spirit is amazing!

I feel so liberated after my brace in the last match against Frankfurt and now I'm ready to go to the limit! Especially your support and your posts on my facebook-page give me an enormous amount of confidence regarding our difficult task in the next game.

From all four matches in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen so far we couldn't claim any points. And exactly this record is what I'd like to change, although I know that it's a long way and a hard fight.

The "Werkself" is the second best away team of the league and won five out off the last six away matches. But I count on you! We need all support we can get when the referee blows the whistle for kick-off at 3:30 pm. From my point of view the two goals were important for me personally of course, but as well our strong team performance on the last matchday. We definitively have to show the same effort and maybe even more to win against Leverkusen. And I'm hopeful that we achieve this!

honestly, I was a bit surprised when the coach came up to me and told me that I'll be in the starting eleven against Frankfurt. Even better that I took this chance - and how!

Frankfurt could look back on good results from their last eight matches, from which they didn't lose a single one. And it's no secret that they are difficult to beat in their home matches.

For long periods the match was an open clash, in which we took the lead after 31. minutes through Boris. Frankfurt increased the speed and risked more to bring themselves back into the match. And then the 69th and 70th minute came, my minutes!

Andi Beck sent a right-wing cross into the area and I anticipated early. That is why I gave myself a leg-up and shot the ball into the far corner. I cannot describe what flashed through my mind in this second...It was an amzing feeling and made me realize that my hard work finally pays off. After the penny dropped once everything seemded to work out. Just 63 seconds after I scored my third seasonal goal I took the next chance to double score. Benefitted by a mistake in Frankfurt's defence I received the ball in the box and just put it in. You can have a look at the two goals here:

The professional football business is hard from time to time but you always have to believe in yourself and your strengths. And your support really kept me up and helped me to realize this!
